What is Rooted?
Rooted is an 11-week discipleship experience designed to help you connect with God, the church, and your purpose. Through daily practices, group discussions, and shared experiences, Rooted guides you in growing your faith, building community, and living as a disciple of Jesus. Whether you're new to South Hills or looking for your next step, Rooted is a powerful way to grow deeper in your spiritual journey.
Become a Rooted Facilitator
Have you experienced Rooted before or interested in becoming a Rooted facilitator?
What is Rooted?
Rooted is a catalyst for life-changing discussion in a small group environment, a safe space for biblical exploration, and practical learning experiences. The weekly readings will teach you what it means to be a disciple of Jesus through Scripture, prayer, worship, generosity, and service.
How do I register?
Registration is easy! You can register to attend on the registration link on this page. The registration fee is $20 per person which includes all sessions, and your workbook.
Will there be childcare?
Yes childcare will be offered this session.
When and where will my Rooted group meet?
We will meet each Tuesday night at 6:30 pm in the Hub.
What if I can not make all 11 weeks?
Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it will be worthwhile for you to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than two meetings, we ask you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 11 weeks are a cumulative experience, so we ask every participant to honor each other by attending every meeting.
How will my Rooted group be chosen?
Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 10-14 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. We form groups of women, men, and young adults. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographic of those who register. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups which we think will provide the best experience for all people who attend. While we do our best to honor requests when possible, we cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate all friend or leader requests.
What is the difference between Rooted and Life Groups?
Rooted is the on-ramp to Life Groups. Your Rooted group at the end of the 11 weeks becomes your Life Group, and we strongly advise that you go through Rooted before joining an open Life Group.
What if I can't afford the book fee?
We believe that Rooted is a life-changing experience and we want everyone to participate! We understand that the Rooted registration fee may be a burden for some and we are happy to support you if that is your current situation.
Can I lead a Rooted Group and become a guide?
Rooted Facilitators get a front-row seat to something remarkable – God transforming lives. Rooted leaders must have graduated from Rooted. Please email matthew.huston@southhillschurch.cc if you are interested in facilitating.

I am grateful for the opportunities to facilitate Rooted groups. It has been amazing to watch new followers of Jesus, those who have been following Him for years and those that are curious, connect through the conversations around the table over the 11 weeks. I believe as South Hills desires to be disciples who make disciples, Rooted will be a defining piece in the spiritual growth of the church. We pray that people would discover God' love, his desire for community and better understand the purpose He has for each of us.
